A disintegrant is an excipient that promotes the breakup of a tablet or capsule contents into smaller particles after contact with a suitable liquid.
Disintegrant হলো এমন একটি excipient, যা উপযুক্ত তরলের সংস্পর্শে এলে tablet বা capsule-এর contents-কে ছোট কণায় ভেঙে যেতে সাহায্য করে। এর ফলে drug particles-এর surface area বাড়তে পারে এবং dissolution সহজ হতে পারে। উদাহরণ: Croscarmellose sodium, sodium starch glycolate ও crospovidone।
