A loading dose is an initial dose given to achieve a target drug concentration more rapidly than would be possible with maintenance dosing alone.
Loading Dose হলো শুরুতে দেওয়া তুলনামূলক বড় dose, যার উদ্দেশ্য হলো ওষুধের target plasma concentration দ্রুত অর্জন করা। এটি বিশেষত দীর্ঘ half-life-যুক্ত ওষুধের ক্ষেত্রে প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। Loading dose নির্ধারণে target concentration, volume of distribution এবং bioavailability বিবেচনা করা হয়।
