Non-Competitive Antagonist এমনভাবে agonist-এর effect কমায়, যাতে agonist-এর concentration বাড়িয়েও সাধারণত সম্পূর্ণ response ফিরিয়ে আনা যায় না। এটি receptor-এর কার্যক্রম বাধাগ্রস্ত করতে পারে অথবা receptor-এর সঙ্গে এমনভাবে যুক্ত হতে পারে, যা agonist-এর binding বাড়িয়েও সহজে overcome করা যায় না।
