Plasticizer হলো এমন excipient, যা polymer-based coating-এ যোগ করে film-এর flexibility বাড়ানো এবং brittleness কমানো হয়। উপযুক্ত plasticizer coating-এর cracking ও peeling-এর ঝুঁকি কমাতে সাহায্য করতে পারে। উদাহরণ: Polyethylene glycol (PEG) এবং triethyl citrate।
