Polymorphism is the ability of a substance to exist in more than one crystalline form, with different arrangements of molecules in the crystal lattice.
Polymorphism হলো কোনো পদার্থের একাধিক crystalline form-এ থাকার ক্ষমতা। একই API-এর বিভিন্ন polymorph-এর melting point, solubility, dissolution rate এবং stability ভিন্ন হতে পারে। তাই pharmaceutical development-এ উপযুক্ত polymorphic form শনাক্ত ও নিয়ন্ত্রণ করা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ।
