Weight variation is the assessment of differences in the individual weights of dosage units compared with the applicable acceptance criteria.
Weight Variation test-এ নির্দিষ্ট সংখ্যক tablet বা capsule-এর individual weight মেপে তাদের পার্থক্য নির্ধারিত acceptance criteria-এর সঙ্গে তুলনা করা হয়। এটি dosage-unit manufacturing-এর consistency মূল্যায়নে সাহায্য করে। তবে uniform weight থাকলেই প্রতিটি unit-এ API-এর পরিমাণ সমান—এমন নিশ্চয়তা পাওয়া যায় না।
